Ads are now running

So in case any of you wish to remove them, I have enabled the caretaker part of the site. This is a subscription service that allows you to use the site ad-free. It's a huge help to the site and allows us to maintain a consistent revenue source to pay our creators so if you're interested, please sign up.

Otherwise, if you have any issues with ads, please share them here. Ad delivery takes a few weeks to refine so bear with us while we sort things out in the coming days.

Is there any way to tone down the pop up advertising? It’s almost impossible to use the site from my phone and really will decrease my level of engagement. I realize you need to make it profitable, but damn.

What pop up advertising are you talking about? On a phone, there should just be the one footer advertisement that covers a small portion of the bottom of the screen.

Hah, obviously that's my preferred option but as I said, the ads are just getting rolling. I am always open to constructive input on how to improve the experience. Right now, it appears I have no control over the ad dashboard, as they were just installed. Once I get access to the dashboard, I can check the settings and see if anything looks out of place.

Fwiw I have more than just the footer ad on mobile as well (chrome)

I paid for a Caretaker subscription, but I still see the "Become a Caretaker" banner and lots of ads.  Is the caretaker functionally not fully implemented yet?

It is way more than that. I'm seeing the footer ad and then an additional large ad after every post.  Add in the occasional "Chrome is not responding" error and the forums are borderline unusable on my Android phone.

I have a ticket open to resolve this. Ads are also temporarily disabled for awhile as they work on some changes I submitted.

It looks like ads are back, and still not working properly.  Ads are everywhere - one or more ads after each post, a footer ad, a side panel ad (and Caretaker status still does nothing).

Ugh, that’s still not working? Sorry, I’ll look into it asap.

Also, the first day of ads suck. I can’t do anything until my control panel is operational, which happens some time tomorrow morning.

No, apparently not. Thought it was. I’ll gift you an extra month for being a guinea pig, working to see if I can sort out the issue today.

Grrrr. I still don't have control panel access to the ads. My apologies for any annoying delays, I'm just waiting to gain access so I can start toggling a bunch of switches and refine the ad displays.

It appeared to be fixed (prior to the ads being turned back off).  The only issue is that it was still showing the "Become a Caretaker" banner, which it probably shouldn't for people who have already signed up.

Just curious if there is an update for mobile ads? Still getting more than just a footer ad (basically between every post) and I've seen one or two that was a popup style.

No, nothing should have changed. Are you seeing different behavior with the ads from what you saw in the past couple of days?

Yeah for me as of today, the margins are messed up and the avatar pics are in the middle now
