Thus begins the Bears season ending stretch of 6 of their last 9 games being at home. This will also mark the first game since Week 1 that the Bears are wearing their traditional Navy home jerseys. Get used to them because there are no more jersey scheduling quirks this year so they will wear them in.... 6 of their last 9 games.

Dolphins are 5-3 which breaks down to 5-0 with Tua starting and 0-3 with anyone else starting at QB. Barring something unforeseen, Tua will be starting.

Tyreek and Waddle combine for 300 receiving yards.

Bears offense, maybe actually average (even though the basis of that is 100% about running ability)

Their defense: bad, and just got worse. The SoS outlook... Very skewed, and maybe gonna leave for some weird not at all Bears like games.

The next 9 weeks is the closest thing to must watch football as can be for a team not in the playoff hunt running a glorified wing T offense.

oh also with this trade i've officially got what amounts to an interest free loan (until week 18) on that top 10 defensive DVOA bet i made with goony lmao whoops Edited by David

Didn't he offer a buyout after week 2 also? Shoulda taken it! Hell even before last week I think they were at like 15th DVOA. Bet he would given a buyout option

Maybe, I'm interpreting this incorrectly but, I don't understand the animus towards the Bears running the ball or some glorified version of the Wing T formation, etc. remarks from the media, etc. Currently, its putting Fields is the best position to succeed, is that not what good coaches are supposed to do? Did horsefeathering Matt Nagy even remotely attempt to do that for Fields?

No, it's the coach's best option now, but it's a pretty sorry excuse for it to be also.

Like this shouldn't be their ideal offense in 2023 and beyond. But Poles wanted to tank, so they're here for remainder of 2022.

Just posted this in the Week 8 thread. whichever thread works. LFG!

But can he hold onto a pass that hits him in the hands in the end zone?

I don't believe it will be, come 2023, there's probably going to be a larger infusion of help for Justin. Still think we'll see QB runs worked in but, the passing game is going to significantly improve.

This really seems like a pretty big vote of confidence by the FO for Fields doesn't it? I get that you need WRs anyways, but seems like they'd be much less likely to trade for one in season if they were on a rebuilding path where they still needed to get a QB.

Is he a big improvement over Pettis and Brown? Yes. Works for me.

It's the Baltimore #2

Even better, the lower of the #2's.

For now...

yea, I'd assume the Bears 2nd rder is a higher pick, but that def could change. Regardless, trading Roquan for Claypool and a 5th isnt a bad investment overall
