I figured I'd start up a gambling specific thread for my fellow degenerates so we don't annoy others on the regular threads. And if anyone gets the thread title reference, I stand and salute you. It's pretty obscure.

 

LSU fucked me all kinds of ways on Sunday. I somewhat got back on track Monday with Clemson but I need a strong week. Anyone confident about any upcoming lines this weekend?

I was bored last weekend and made some small CFB bets. Did mostly terrible, but did hit the ND +17. I mainly focus on NFL and that is like lighting money on fire but at least I somewhat know what I am doing.

 

 

My bets for this weekend so far:

Rams +2.5

Jax +3.5(got this before the line drop)

Bal -6.5

NYG +6

 

Probably going to bet GB at -1.5 and Cleveland at +2.5, maybe Pittsburgh at +6.5 too. Deciding on those, might lay off.

 

I always place money on the SNF and MNF games but don't like anything yet.

 

As for CFB, some "expert" was mentioning teams to fade. Specifically FIU, he mentioned taking Texas St at (-13.5). But I don't know enough about either of those teams.

Vandy is much improved this year and their QB can put up points.

That’s a lot of points vs a team that can score.

Yeah early season NFL is a crapshoot, but I really like that Baltimore game, and similarly the Bengals are -6.5 and Chiefs -6. Those all feel like strong bets if they stay under 7.

I've been off to a pretty solid start in CFB:

 

Week 0: 2-1--Northwestern +13, Illinois -10, and NM State + 8.5 (loser)

Week 1: 4-1--Colorado +13.5 (loser), Michigan State -20.5, South Carolina -12.5 (2 unit play, lock of the week), Western KY -16, and GT team points under 13.5

 

I don't love this week. I'm thinking of taking Colorado +17.5 @ Air Force, but their pathetic 2nd half last week has me questioning that. Central Michigan -5 vs. South Alabama, and Iowa to bounce back -3.5 vs. Iowa State, but I am hoping that goes down to 3 or even 2.5. Arizona getting 11 points at home in a super late night game vs. Mississippi State is probably going to be played if I hit a couple earlier games.

Week 0, hit with NU and lost with Hawaii.

 

Week 1, hit with Nevada and lost with Boise St.

 

This week I have two separate parlays...

 

 

Parlay 1:

Georgia Southern to cover against Nebraska -23.5.

Holy Cross to cover against Buffalo -11.5

 

Parlay 2:

Norfolk State to cover against James Madison -36.5

Howard to cover against USF. -34.5.

 

If I hit on parlay... I'll be down 36.00 for the CFB. Hit on both, be up a couple hundred. Miss on both, be down 800.00.

Don’t make a habit of crossing zero on teasers, that’s a long term death trap.

 

In fact, teasers should really only be used to cross 2 key numbers. They’re called Wong Teasers and have been super profitable, at least in the NFL. I don’t mess with college.

Hit under 10 in the first quarter tonight. Now I just need to make sure the longest TD of the night is no more than 44 yards. Would be a nice start to the week especially since I realized tonight I accidentally bet Texas +20 instead of Alabama -20 somehow. Guess I just fat fingered it and wasn’t paying close enough attention.
