9-1-2 coming up in the bottom half.

If we don’t score in the 9th it’s ok… Cardinals have Goldschmidt, Arenado, and Gorman due up in the 10th.

So you’re recommending turning the game off now then. Not the worst idea.

The Cubs have to lead the league in lost leads and I would be surprised if there is even be a close second.

Considering we’ve had a lead in 15 of the last 17 games and are only like 6-8 in those games I’m sure you’re right

What the Hell is Frazier doing on this team if he can’t even make contact in that situation?

He got on for 8 straight PAs until the manager decided to sit him for 2 of the last 3.

He should’ve got the job done but the Cubs have been failing at that situation as long as I’ve lived haha

I’m really hoping the “big piece” the Cubs received in the Kimbrel trade is currently on the 60-day DL.

:fingers crossed:

Madrigal has to be close to getting optioned, right? RIGHT???

I mean how long can you keep playing a guy who is barely OPS'ing .500?

Through yesterday afternoon he was 5 for 12 since returning from the DL, so even though I understand the irritation I think he's currently better than his season line.

That said, as some of those IL guys get healthy if the season line doesn't move upward I think you have to consider that as a roster necessity since you can't send down Morel at this point.

If he's not going to walk, not going to slug AT ALL, and not going to do anything special on defense, he pretty much HAS to go 5 for 12 to provide any value.

Don’t get why you’re keeping Espinoza if you are going to give him a chance. Even though his numbers aren’t that great. Effross got the tough outs, Espinoza could’ve got the shot vs the bottom.

Could’ve got through this game only using Effross and Espinoza going into the off day.

Yes, Madrigal's performance since returning is not long term sustainable, my point is it is a noteworthy improvement and not currently the most pressing offensive problem at the moment(Heyward, Simmons, Rivas).
