If he's speaking, that seems really good sign for how the organization views him. Not that I was too concerned that they were down on him but its good to hear.

Weird that he'd stress that Poles didn't decide on this alone. Maybe trying to refute the reports that Polian wasn't happy with the choice.

I think you are misreading that. Sounds like he is stressing that Poles did decide this on his own.

Lot of subtweeting Nagy here lol

Of all the impressive things about Justin his ability to be so diplomatic in consistently throwing Nagy under the bus is maybe the most remarkable.

Whenever I see a statement like this, I hear George Costanza.

"Me? Oh yeah, I'm a big analytics guy! LOVE those A-NA-LYTICS!"

fair, but he did perk up a bit in apparent agreement when Poles responded to a question about the usefulness of analytics.

A disaster for whom?

Yeah, seriously, horsefeathers the Vikings, there's no guarantee Harbaugh' the answer for them just as there is that Poles/Eberflus aren't the answer for the Bears.

Yeah maybe he'll be great for them, but it's not a given. I wasn't wanting him to come to Chicago, although 3/4 seasons in the NFC Championship game and 1 in the Super Bowl @ SF. It's hard to deny that he's a good hire for MIN.

Harbaugh to the Vikings sounds like it might happen. What a disaster, especially if he brings Fangio.

They still don't have a QB.

They have one for one year. Cousins is a 4,000 yard 30 touchdown guy. I could see them taking a step forward in year one. Harbaugh is capable. The Vikings have a tendency to be good before crapping the bed late, but that kind of stuff only continues to happen until it doesn't. The transition from Cousins to Mond could be dicey, but you don't have to squint too hard to see a Harbaugh led Vikings team outperforming an Eberflus led Bears team over the next 4 years.

Assuming the Vikings do get Harbaugh, they are going to have some interesting decisions to make. 6 defensive starters are FAs. 14Mil projected over the cap. They can't really restructure Cousins (and his 45Mil cap hit) without creating dead money in void years, because it's his last year under contract. With Harbaugh, it makes a ton of sense for them to go full Rams and try to add 1 more weapon on offense, an elite pass rusher and probably a solid CB or two. Going from Zimmer to Harbaugh, along with the Packers demise, probably puts them in the 10-11 win range on paper. So they could easily be a top contender. Even though Cousins isn't great, he's probably better than Jimmy G who has gone to a SB and was 3 points short of doing it again.

But they probably also shouldn't extend 35-year old Cousins because he may not be good enough to get them over the top. So, they'd be looking at Harbaugh to develop a young QB in 2023 and beyond, and probably be a rebuilding team for a couple years. I'm not sure Harbaugh wants to do that or if the Vikings want to admit that, especially if they do win 11 games and have no ring to show for it after 2022.

I get the Vikings probably see themselves in the drivers seat for the next couple of seasons assuming Rodgers is gone and the Bears probably won't be contending until 2024 but Harbaugh isn't worth the price. The Bears ownership are cheap asses but I am fine with them not going in that direction. Only the meatball segment of Bears fans will be upset.
