(13) Ole Miss at Tennessee

o/u set at 79. Seems like easy money on the over.

yes, absolutely. For whatever reason, even against run heavy teams like with Arkansas, Ole Miss never deviates from this 3-2-6 defense they are running. With Tennessee being a run heavy team, you should definitely expect another shootout.

I feel like it is almost to easy to go over in this one, so the under will probably come in

So what's going on with Clemson this year? They've been held under 20 points four times in six games. Before the opener this year, they'd scored 20+ in 42 straight. Last time they didn't was the 2018 CFP semi's against Alabama. In their previous 90 games they'd been held under 20 only 4 times total. It's got to be more than just Lawrence leaving, right?

I have no idea but it has to be more than Lawrence leaving since their QB was a lot better when he played last year after Lawrence had COVID

Clemson's offensive lines have never really been all that great over the past few years (by comparison to their other position groups, at least) and this year they're even worse. That's probably the biggest reason.

There's also some CFB media chatter that Dabo's absolute refusal to dip into the transfer portal for talent is hurting them, but that could just be anecdotal.

He’s stepping down and not getting fired for cause, so getting his $$$. Apparently, the AD didn’t have faith in any of his assistants to be interim HC either.

Pretty good article for those of you who subscribe.

It was a slow and steady whittling away of all the things that brought him and the program success. Add in a massive Title IX scandal in the university and the newly single Orgeron’s interactions with women bringing new distractions, and the changing off-field behavior coincided with declining on-field results.

“He lost track of who he was and what made him good from the national championship to now,” one source told The Athletic.

Man, I'd love to be able to hire clowns like Orgeron and Chizik and win national titles anyway.

have a once a decade QB running your offense and your odds go up pretty significantly (assuming you have a halfway decent defense).

Guessing they didn't want anyone fluking their way into a few wins and feeling any kind of pressure from players, etc. to keep them on. Letting O coach means they can completely clean house at the end of the year without any of that in the way.

Makes me hate Kevin Sumlin even more.

Yeah I feel your pain: Corral is carrying Ole Miss entirely by himself the same way Manziel did and ultimately it's going to be wasted due to the defense. Your defense was ranked in the 100's in 2013 the same as Ole Miss' is right now. Losing multiple games despite scoring over 40 points is ridiculous.

2013 Tamu

Offense - 4th

Defense - 111th

2021 OM

Offense - 3rd

Defense - 107th

The 2012 defense was good enough to win it all but we had a game with La Tech moved because of a hurricane so Johnny's first college game was at home against a very good Florida defense. Had he played at least one game before then maybe he would have been better prepared to beat them. It was a close low scoring game if memory serves. Win that game and we are in the SEC Championship Game due to the tiebreaker over Alabama and LSU having two conference losses. And at the end of the season I don't think anyone was going to beat us with the way we were playing. By 2013 Johnny was a little more out of control, Kingsbury was gone, and the defense wasn't nearly as good.

A lot more reporting on the agreement today. It seems O was all but gone after the UCLA game, but they finally approached Coach O and signed the deal the Monday after the Kentucky game. Essentially, Orgeron gets his money and finishes the season, LSU is assured that he walks away quietly and doesn’t tell the press (or the courts) where all the skeletons are buried in the Title IX and rape scandal coverups. It’s shady as horsefeathers.

Since that 2019 championship season, Coach O has been in the middle of covering up player rape allegations, told a heckler he wanted to “take him down to a fishing hole” where supposedly they’d never find his body, the UCLA “sissy blue shirt” comment walking into the Rose Bowl right before he got his ass kicked, AND tweeting selfies of himself in bed with hot women. STILL, if he weren’t 9-8 since the title game, no one would give a horsefeathers.
