No idea why CBS decided to put A&M-Alabama in prime time. That’s going to be an ass whipping. Glad I have a concert to go to so I won’t even be tempted to watch that murder porn.

I think you guys were in the top 10 when they made that call. Alas. Maybe the pregame atmosphere could be fun, though.

It was announced after Arkansas manhandled us which dropped us to 15. I'm sure they didn't expect us to lose at home to Mississippi State but anyone paying attention should have been able to see it won't be a good game.

Good games all around next week.

(4) Penn State at (3) Iowa (4 pm, FOX)

(6) Oklahoma vs (21) Texas - in Dallas (12 pm, ABC)

Oklahoma is due to go down after flirting with disaster all season.

(13) Arkansas at (17) Ole Miss (12 pm, ESPN)

A crossroads game for both teams. I think Ole Miss is better.

LSU at (16) Kentucky (7:30 pm, SEC Network)

Losing at the end to Auburn was bad. Getting trucked by Kentucky will bring out the pitchforks for Coach O.

Crazy factoid regarding PSU/Iowa: It's the first regular-season B1G conference game to be a top-5 matchup without Michigan or Ohio State involved since 1962 (Wisconsin/Minnesota). Iowa and MSU met as top-5 opponents in '15, but in the league title game.

That Oregon loss really hurts Ohio State's resume

They'll be fine if they win out. It was very early in the season and Oregon will finish with a decent resume. Ohio State has recovered from early non-conference losses to make the playoffs before and they still have games left against Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan to fatten up their resume. I guess the key is 'if they win out'. They've looked a lot better of late and maybe are putting it together but they looked really shaky the first few weeks of the season so we'll see.

It would help if Big Blue would start doing its job in their biggest annual game, but...

It's my understanding that with the SEC, CBS gets first pick for their 2:30 game and then ESPN gets the next pick for their 11am game. CBS doesn't always do a night game, so I'm not sure where that is in the pecking order, but the first two slots for SEC are 2:30 and then 11am. So I'm not sure what to take away from TAMU and Bama being at 8, but it's definitely not a priority game at this point because you're right, TAMU is going to get blown to tiny bits. Ole Miss is a ridiculous offense with a Heisman type QB and they couldn't do jack against that defense, so I don't know how TAMU scores on them. God bless him, but Calzada looks as overmatched as I've ever seen an SEC QB look.

It's a whole lot different than we were younger. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, that 11am slot was the slot of death for SEC schools. It was the Jefferson Pilot game of the week or something like that. But now it's the second pick.

Calzada probably needs to transfer to an FCS school. Not sure how much longer Haynes King is out or even if he's a legit SEC player but this season is already lost. Still can't get over how atrocious our OL has been. A complete failure by Jimbo and the staff.

TAMU seems to specialize in doing less with more than any other program in the conference.

I just looked it up and right now on the roster TAMU has 10 four-star OL and 2 five-star OL.

For comparison, Ole Miss has 0 four-star OL and 0 five-star OL.

For further comparison with another school that has a similar "budget", Bama has 8 four-star OL and 3 five-star OL.

They have one but he’s a true freshman and only plays a couple plays a game

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. I know we have some key injuries including yet another Matthews brother but we should have more than enough talent to field at least a pretty good line right now. And as much as I hate to say it, you are spot on with the "doing less with more" assessment. It's nothing new, either.

How it’s going in Baton Rouge…

That host there is a big time bro, but he is the maybe the most popular radio sports talk host in the area, definitely that covers LSU. He's been torching Coach O since last season, and claims that the search for a new coach has been happening since UCLA. Lots of people down here are calling for Lane Kiffin.

LSU will need to fire O for cause if they want to be able to pay Kiffin's enormous buyout. I'm not sure Kiffin makes that jump anyways. Ole Miss is a really good fit for him right now. His twitter persona and his actual personality are two very different things. Kiffin is quite the introvert in real life and at Ole Miss he's allowed to just go about his business with his head down and nobody messes with him, but the Baton Rogue media and LSU boosters are on the complete opposite side of that. He's apparently adopted the Saban model for dealing with boosters and hangers-on i.e. piss off and let me do my job and "no, you can't come to practice and stand there." I'm not sure that would fly at LSU. I also don't think Kiffin has won enough yet at Ole Miss to currently qualify for a blue blood type gig.

OldStyle, get in here and defend this isht. That midnight yell stuff you guys do makes you look psychotic.

First of all, I’ve never heard of any Battle of the Sheep. That’s not an A&M thing. As far as the first video, the Yell Leaders have always been quite embarrassing to many Aggies. I’ve been sent this video so many times already this week. The Corps, which Yell Leaders are almost always part of despite being elected, do all kinds of dumb horsefeathers. Last I heard they make up about 5% of the student body but that’s when we were around 40K. I think it’s over 60K now and I guarantee the Corps didn’t grow by 50%. I went to Yell Practice less than 5 times in my three years there and that was mainly because everyone at the party I was at wanted to go. I was much more interested in trying to float the keg.

I have no idea on the Lane Kiffin talk, but if LSU does fire Coach O, it will be for cause. Apparently, Title IX violations and sweeping rape alegations against football players under the rug is where they draw the line...

(once the football team starts losing).

Lmao @ Texas

WTF was the Arky coach doing going for 2??????

100% the right call, IMO. Trying to match Lane Kiffin’s offense starting in each other’s red zone seems riskier than two yards to end the game right then.

Ole Miss vs Arkansas is always nuts, and heart breaking for one side or the other.
