The Cubs squeaked by the Pirates despite being at home and the Pirates missing their one good player for most of the series. No red flags there

Tonight, rhe Cubs' other reclamation project takes the mound. Trevor's noticed a real difference since coming over from Pittsburgh

The Brewers counter with Brett Anderson, who despite being incredibly mediocre continues to have a huge opinion of himself

I'm predicting a good showing by Williams tonight on the mound. 6 innings, 1 run, 5K, 1 BB. Joc is going to go yard tonight too.

What's the thought process on Happ sitting in game 2 against a lefty but leading off in this one?

I'm guessing (assuming all healthy) Happ, Joc & Heyward won't all sit together so on lefty days it will rotate around.

I think it's partly that Tyler Anderson from game 2 has a (modest) reverse split and mostly that Ross is trying to do that thing where he gets all his bench guys into games early in the year.

If I would have known Dempster was on this broadcast I would not have burned the "Forced Laughing" gif prior to the game

Because him, Joc and Heyward don’t handle lefties great? Probably gonna be a revolving door out there vs LHP with who sits and who plays and maybe there’s some sort of profile/matchup of LHP they prefer for all of them.

The Brewers are very much a run prevention team, but still Trevor Williams looks great (and so does Willson's glove)

I know it’s way too early to take this seriously, but I feel like Jake, Davies, and Williams are going to make us a much better team than what it may show on paper. And Alzolay hasn’t even pitched yet.
