That was special on both sides with Zach and Grant. The 3rd quarter defense was great to see, too.

If Zach gets traded, I will lose my mind. Once he starts getting some calls he will be a top 10 player. He might even be one right now without them.

LaVine's a killer, man. He went from needing to carry the team to respectability because there was nobody else to wanting to carry the team to wins. He hasn't always come thru in the clutch this year, but he's stepped up and taken over on the offensive end and even turned it up defensively when the team needed him to.

Currently tied for 13th in the NBA in VORP (tied with Zion, Beal, and Bam)

I watched this. Gafford is exactly like he was in college. A great rim protector, runs the floor and a great finisher. He has so much potential but he should have stayed in school.

Should we have taken Haliburton? Obviously would have been a huge reach at 4 but the teams biggest need was always PG IMO. In a redraft he almost assuredly goes before Williams. Kid is 20 with a .62 eFG. Dead-eye shooter and a low TO rate as well. Would have had a major impact on our team.

Probably. I think Williams can still be a player and may still have the highest ceiling, but id rather have Haliburton at this point. Williams was a pleasant surprise early on, but has kind of stalled out since. He’s still 19 and shows flashes, but I can’t say I feel as confident about the pick as I did a month or two ago. May just be a bit of a rookie wall, which is going to be common for a 19 year old, especially in a somewhat condensed season.

Pretty sure in a redraft LaMelo goes first and then Haliburton, Edwards, Wiseman would be the next 3. Some other guys like Bey, Quigley, and Anthony have seen their stock rise tremendously too.

So much potential?

Ok, I had been drinking a bit. Still, I do think he could be a poor man’s Tyson Chandler and have a solid career.

I think Wiseman still goes top 2 in a redraft. A guy with his size, shooting ability/potential and the little bit he’s shown is still incredibly valuable and hard to find.

Zach Lavine is averaging 32.0 PPG for the month of February, which is the 31st best Bulls scoring month of all time, tied with a Jordan month. 1 to 30 are all Jordan. So are 33-48.

that "shooting" foul there was on par with the no call against lavine a couple of weeks ago as worst call ever

i'm much more annoyed at coby than the bad call. so horsefeathering stupid.

and why does BD always run out of timeouts before the final play? he didn't need to burn both of those near the end of the game, and it costs them again.

Bulls are in an interesting spot. Obviously, looking like a potential playoff team and just 1/2 game out of the 4th seed in the East. But also obvious is that they likely aren't getting out of the 1st round of the playoffs as constructed. They have been on a great run without Lauri and Otto Porter. So, I would think those guys (one a UFA after the year, the other RFA) would definitely be on the trade block. But then there's guys like Thaddeus (Thadgic Johnson) Young, Tomas Satoransky, and Garrett Temple, who aren't going to be part of the Bulls going too much further in the future who could bring back some decent assets but are a HUGE part of the winning rotation right now.

They probably have to keep the latter 3 for a playoff run this year. But if they get an offer they can't refuse for any of them (or have to add them as part of a Markannen/Porter trade) then it's probably worth screwing up the rotation this year for long-term gain.

I think if GarPax were still in charge they would be without a doubt standing pat to try to squeeze out a playoff appearance. Im thinking AK and crew will take a more long term view and not let some success deviate them from their plans. That doesn't mean they will gut a team that has a lot of positive momentum and seems to be growing with a competent coach but I think if they can get some long term value for a piece that won't necessarily gut the team they will strongly consider it.

Nothing I have seen indicates AK is going to gut a playoff team. :dontknow:

Can't be bad enough to tank for a top pick. Already set up well cap wise. Making the playoffs and attracting a star or two seem like the path. Theres a window to try and get two stars before Lavine's next deal.

There's also a ton of value is giving these guys playoff experience. There's definitely value in not gutting the team around Zach LaVine to show him you can build around him. Thad and Sato make this really difficult though. The Bulls would likely pull the trigger if they can get a PG for Lauri, but that could cut down Sato's minutes or require Thad's salary to match depending on the PG they would get.
