pretty sure elite pass rushers do it for a really long time. almost as long as qbs.

This is definitely one that gets thrown around but I have zero idea to its accuracy.

all the great ones that come to mind (and i get that this is sort of self-fulfilling as that's why their greatness comes to mind) did. peppers, strahan, white, LT to some extent, bruce smith

There's usually a really clear line in the sand where they go from "threat to put up huge sacks every year" to "still pretty good but not elite." And they usually cross that line somewhere between age 27 and 31. If the Bears are going to do anything this year, they need Mack to be an unstoppable force, not just the guy we talk about how it's not his fault he got stopped because Hicks is hurt and there's nobody to soak up the double team.

But mostly I'm just doom bonering.

Yea I think the self fulfilling prophecy is definitely going to be true here.

Here's a list of all guys with 50+ Sacks through their first 6 seasons. 60 names, Mack is 21st on the list with 61.5. Perhaps ill do something later with this list and see how well they age (and maybe I can also compare to 60 great NFL QBs through 6 seasons and see how well they actually age).

I’m assuming I can’t watch the Bears game on my Xfinity app live, but can I watch the DVR of it on the app just a few seconds behind live or will they somehow block that too?

i have no actual knowledge of this nor do i have xfinity, but why wouldn't you be able to watch it on your xfinity app live?

idk what the nfl rules are but usually when you have in market streaming as a verified tv subscriber you are not blacked out on anything you're able to watch on regular tv as long as you're in your home region.

That would be great if true. I thought for some reason that even though I live in Chicago and am watching in market, you couldn't watch non-national games on an Xfinity app. I can’t watch anything from Marquee live even though I’m in market.

Quinn is still not practicing, seems unlikely he will play Sunday. My doom boner is already raging majestically. I want this team to crash and burn completely, get everyone fired, start the rebuild.

The entire season rests on getting healthy, dominant seasons out of the key defensive players. We already lost Goldman. They can't afford to have any dropoff from Quinn (30), Trevathan (30), Hicks (30), Mack (29) or Fuller (28), and we all know that all NFL players except QBs wither away and die after their 27th birthday. The depth that helped a ton last year just isn't there anymore.

Somehow Pace managed to look at the crapfest that was the offense and do nothing except play the tight-end carousel yet again and bring in a QB who couldn't beat out our crappy incumbent. The offense has exactly one good but not elite player (Robinson), a couple of average players and a bunch of bad players. WRs are below average as a group, OL is below average as a group, both QBs are below-average starters. I can buy the argument that Montgomery is a secretly average back whose surrounding talent made his stats look awful, but he's not better than average. Cohen on his best days is a flex/tweener RB3 not a true second RB in a league where you need two real RBs, and his best days look behind him already.

The offseason was a monument to why you don't let guys have "save your job" years. Trading picks and committing big guaranteed money to 30-year-old defensive players. The cap situation still sucks next year now too.

I would argue that Robinson is actually elite, but the rest seems about right.

Really? I watch live games all the time using the Marquee app. Do they not have an xfinity log in set up for it yet?

I’ll have to use the app for Marquee. Didn’t know that would work.

I’m also not sure how the Xfinity app works, but I believe you could watch the game on the Fox Sports app if you enter your Xfinity subscriber info.

Jimmy Graham blew that drive. Jumping early for a pass he didn't even need to jump for

yeah, even though it looked like Trubisky threw it behind him a tad, he should have had that.
