Love the nickname and like the color scheme for the most part. Not a huge fan of the S logo though. It's not bad but it seems very minor leaguey for some reason. I'm sure it will feel less so once I get used to seeing it.

There's a tentacle in negative space of the S. And the red is supposed to be an eye. If you scroll down on the site I linked at the top, it breaks down the logo.

 

The secondary logo having the Space Needle in the anchor is pretty badass.

Part of logo design is conveying a group of ideas as simply as possible, yet clearly as possible. That being said, you don’t have the make it sooooo obvious that everyone can understand them at first glance, and thats part of the allure of good design; they’re is a less accessible, but once discovered obvious meaning or two.

 

I agree, I think they did a very good job on both the “S” and the anchor

With the salary cap expected to be flat (or close to flat), the Kraken figure to mop up at the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. The NHL will use the same expansion draft rules as the Vegas Golden Knights did.

 

Naturally, this expansion club will face a significant challenge in trying to parallel the smash success of the Golden Knights. It would probably be wiser to temper expectations to somewhere between the instant success of the Golden Knights and the lengthy struggles of past NHL expansion teams.

 

(But, again, financial realities open up plenty of possible opportunities for this upcoming team. Their analytics-friendly perception only makes such hypothetical situations more fun to imagine.)

 

Most of the mock drafts I've seen are 6-12 months old, though I assume we'll see some new stabs here soon
