That's right! IU is ranked for the first time since 1994. It was far and away the longest drought in the Power 5, and it's over.

So when does Michigan St. move on from Mike Dantonio? He's 24-25 (15-18) in the last ~50 games.

Sadly it will only last a week barring a major upset.

 

Tom Allen has done a great job considering there are literally only five 4-star players on the entire team. For comparison's sake, Penn St has three 5-stars and fourty-four 4-stars.

I am torn on this. I know we had a couple of years where we flirted with the elite, but I am not sure that is sustainable at MSU in the Big Ten East. What I think is sustainable is a Iowa level of solid to very good almost every year. I think Dantonio is probably as good as anyone at making that happen. That being said there is a lot of garbage outside of the game itself that goes on there that would need to get cleaned up if fans are going to accept that level of competitiveness.
