This may be a fact that only interests me but.. with tonight's games, I'm pretty sure the NBA becomes the first professional sports league to play meaningful games in every month of a calendar year.

Boy did OKC ever screw up the end of that game.

 

Dort takes a 3 that's blocked with 5 seconds left after a disjointed possession. He was 6-12 from 3 today but was at 18% from 3 in the series and 30% for the regular season. Then they get the ball back down 2 with 1.1 seconds left. Can't get the ball in the first time and are forced to call a time out. Second time, they also can't get the ball inbounds and have to try to throw it to Steven Adams outside the 3-point line to avoid the 5 second violation. The ball gets deflected and they lose.

The whole last 3 mins or so of the game was really disjointed by both teams. There was a 10 second span where 2 Thunder players and 1 Rocket tried to flop and sell offensive fouls and none of them were called. Then on the Thunders 3rd to last possession with the shot clock basically off instead of taking a TO, Chris Paul drives into traffic and bobbles the ball away. Then the plays you mentioned. You also forgot to mention that right before the last inbounds they called a foul on the Rockets before the inbounds which gave the Thunder a FT and possession. They missed the FT and then as you pointed out, threw the ball away on the final inbounds.

 

Sucks. The Thunder were a fun story this year and assuming Presti drafts well they are set up to be good for a long time. But would have been cool to see Paul beat the team that basically cast him off to a Thunder team that just traded their 2 best players away

Nash seems like a really intelligent and thoughtful guy the few podcasts I’ve heard him on post playing (mostly Simmons). Reminds me a lot of Kerr from a personality, thoughtfulness, outlook on things, etc standpoint from when Kerr use to go on there (or guess still even does).

 

Also was coached under D’antoni and Kerr was in the FO or staff there for a while so implementing a modern space and pace offense should be easy for him. Also guessing they think he has as good of chance as any as a HOF/MVP PG to try and keep Kyrie from being a complete lunatic.

Great ending to Bos-Tor. Glad Toronto won just to make it a series.

 

Boston almost lost the series despite the fact that they should have actually lost none of those games.

Paul George is going to catch some heat after this one. Kawhi was bad also but he's at least won 2 titles and shown up in big moments. George hasn't.
10-38 from their big 2 though, wow. Absolutely dismal.

 

Compare that to the Nuggets. Murray went 15-26 and outscored Kawhi and PG 40-24. Jokic was 5-13, which isn't great but still way better than Kawhi/PG, and he added 22 boards and 13 assists.
