So the Cubs win their second in a row. But more importantly, the finally win a road series!!

Of course, they had the play the rubber match away from Pittsburgh in order to make it happen

So they get to travel back to Chicago, full of confidence.

But they have a day off on Monday before playing Tuesday night

Home Cubs are gonna be puttin' a hurtin' on the road Giants.

And while the Cubs can be frustrating at times, they are our team. Our family. And you negative-Nellies need to get with the program and stop all the b!tching!

After all, the Cards suck, right? And the Vaunted Brewers - uh, no. So it's gonna be oh so sweet when the Cubs pull away from the rest of division as September nears.

Continue winning, you bastard$!!

That is all.

Angel Hernandez behind the plate, which should be wonderful.

Also, Jason Heyward has a .311 OBP in August, following a .333 OBP in July (with a .421 BABIP, somehow). I'm happy he turned back into a league average hitter, but he does not need to be leading off every day, and if they don't trust Happ at second (which...they probably shouldn't), he should be getting more starts in center to see if he's someone who can play a role down the stretch.

Stuff like this baffles me. Like, how can the manager and coaches AND the FO not act on this very obvious and very easily obtained info. They absolutely must know about it, so....why? It's so interminably meatball-y.

Yeah, just move him down to 6 or whatever and move everyone else up one. Heyward as a league average hitter with his defense is definitely starting material, and much better than what we've been getting. But he should not be getting the most PAs for a team that has any serious aspirations.

I get Happ can be a butcher at 2b, but I still want him starting over Kemp. Use Kemp as a defensive replacement (what should've been done that game they blew in Pitt) late. Kemp getting more PA's than Happ is stupid.

If TT is reading the board tonight, have you changed your thoughts on Castellanos at all? I know you weren't very impressed with him and didn't think the acquisition was going to be very impactful. I also assume you are getting to watch him more and wondering if this is just a hot streak or if you are more impressed with him than you originally thought?

I keep waiting for him to cool off because........TT is almost never wrong.

Well this ruins the Castellanos is a star and a bargain at 6/200 bit I was going to do.

I’m glad he’s hit the ground running, I’m skeptical of him in the longer run, but the stretch run benefit is undeniable even if he goes in the tank the rest of the year.

It's a coin toss. If Happ starts at second Kemp becomes your primary lefty pinch hitter, which for me doesn't inspire any more confidence than Happ's defense at second.

With a normal bench I'd agree with you, but for the next 11 days I think I like Kemp starting at second.

Gotcha. Thanks.
