Love it. Hopefully he does well enough that they feel comfortable getting rid of Descalso or and Russell.

Outstanding news. I honestly can't remember a story quite like this for a position player to come out of nowhere (or basically nowhere) and rise through the minors in such quick fashion.

He can legit crush fastballs so I hope the Pirates are dumb enough to challenge him with some fastballs tonight.

His 630 OPS will fit right in on that bench.

His OPS is in the mid 900’s this year...

His AAA OPS is. His MLB OPS will likely be much lower.

The dickens you say.

Dude will be a folk hero with a .750 OPS and passable defense (provided he doesn’t beat his loved ones).

So basically David Bote with slightly worse defense

Hey, he endeared himself to me by crushing some baseballs. He's obviously better than DeScalso and possibly Russell already

His Ruthian start is more than likely a Jake Fox/Bryan LaHair-esque apparition. This being said, when you’re a contender, having such a thing is quite valuable. That and the fact that he’s not Daniel DeScalso makes him alright in my book.

Yep. He's shown more of an eye than I thought, but eventually he's just going to stop seeing hittable fastballs, and I'm not sure he's going to be able to adjust. But that still means we should absolutely ride his bat through the adjustment phase.

(Teammates' reaction to Lake's first hit as a Blue Jay, which was a home run.)
