I haven't been paying attention the the minors much the last few years. I'm in NC for a funeral and a bunch of as are going to catch the Myrtle Beach game in Winston-Salem tonight.

Which prospects should I be keeping an eye on?

Alzolay's K/BB ratio is outstanding; his WHIP, too.

It'll be interesting to see what he can do for Chicago this year... Hopefully he wont be a trade asset for a LH reliever.

I’d hope we give him a start or two this year, even if it’s just to go 6-man 1 time through to give everyone rest and then in September use him like the VBs used Burnes/Woodruff last year, Dodgers and Stripling, etc.

Let Alzolay come up and start. He continues to become immune to a crappy bullpen wasting good starts as the Iowa pen(namely Collins and Maples tonight) have blown leads his last two starts

I feel pretty safe in saying Alzolay is probably the least likely piece to be moved on the farm, simply because someone is going to have to take Cole's spot in the rotation for 2020 on the cheap and his combination of MLB readiness and ability make him the prime target. Money may be coming off the books between Zobrist,Hamels,Strop,Morrow, etc. but a ton of that money is going to be spent on arbitration raises and restocking the bullpen.

Additionally, I figure this regime probably values Alzolay more than other teams because he’s so close to proving they can actually develop pitching.

Also, we should probably ignore Zobrist’s money coming off the books since it’s been repurposed as Kimbrel money.
