Parkey can’t kick it that far

 

I’m sure he can kick one that far he’s just not very good at it, at least enough to kick it in 95% of situations. This was one of those other 5%.

 

But fine say 54 yards really is his limit. What are the chances of scoring on a short dump off vs taking a chance at the end zone? Doesn’t make sense

I think they were going into a pretty strong wind in the 1st half, they showed Parkey do the drop the blades of grass thing and it moved quite a bit on the way down

Getting upset about that sequence before the half makes no sense.

 

Parkey wasn't making a 58 yarder. Only thing that could happen is a block and return for TD. Nothing positive was going to come out of that. Hail Mary and dumpoff to Cohen for a TD both had about the same chance of happening AKA none.

You don't take timeouts to stop the clock for a team that has Tom Brady and only 1 TO of their own.

On its own, I don't mind skipping the kick. They were against the wind and at the limit of Parkey's range.

 

What upsets me about that, though, is it makes the decision down in Miami to kick after not even really trying to advance the ball much more questionable. If you know that your kicker doesn't have the leg to consistently make those long kicks, you have to try harder to advance the ball last week.
