is it too late to coordinate a Vance 2005 like DLee all-star campaign to write-in Javy for starter at all 8 positions?

Why?

Because he stinks

Oh, okay. Is a 1.09 FIP bad now?

I’m also confused by this. 12 Ks / 0 BBs/ 0 HR, 58% GB rate. His past body of work indicates he is not this good, but he’s been just fine for the Cubs so far.

He’s been good in his like 6 innings or whatever but he has a large sample of work to show he isn’t any good

okay, but of the guys in the pen that need to be shot to the moon right now, he isn't near the top of the list.

I agree he’s fine for now but I don’t want him around long. He has a career era/FIP/xfip in the 4s, he’s 30, he doesn’t strike anyone else and relies on contact but it is nice he doesn’t walk anyone and he’s whatever. Just want to have another better option out there even when we are at full strength.

He's a reliever, a career FIP in the 4s is not out of the norm. As stopgap relievers go, there's no need to be in a hurry to dump him. There is no team in baseball with an entire roster of Kenley Jansens.

There's a good chance he gets sent down when Carl returns in a few days.
