it amazes me how many people are acting like the blackout rules have anything to do with this.

like, the blackout rules have been very dumb for a very long time, but it's got absolutely nothing to do with this channel.

i suppose a lot of it, ironically, is just confusion from the fact that people can get the channel pretty much anywhere even though the games will be blacked out.

Yeah it's amazing the amount of people that respond to anything mentioning the Cubs Marquee pissed off they won't be able to watch games in "state that is way far away from Chicago". Literally nothing is changing for these people that live out of market, I realize there was national WGN but they haven't done sports in years have they?

That ended after the 2014 season (there's probably some dramatic irony in that they yanked games off national right before they got good for 4 straight years).

Agreed with above. However, I think many believed they would be able to get the rest of the channel content minus the games if they were out of market. Right now the Marquee twitter account says that is not possible. I’m not 100% convinced that is true. For instance, on DirecTV if I have the sports package and MLBEI I currently get YES and all Yankees games. I had been assuming the same would be true for MSN, but now I’m not so sure.

I think that's gotta be just poor wording on the answer (since the original question was about game broadcasts)

If I enter my zip code I get this message.

https://getmarqueesportsnetwork.com/providers/

“Sorry, but you’re zip code is outside of the network territory. Please contact your provider regarding potential availability via out-of-market sports packages.”

Others have said on twitter they’ve contacted DirecTV and gotten a wide range of responses. That doesn’t surprise me at all having dealt with DirecTV in the past.

If I had to bet, things will be just like the YES network, but holy cow the roll out has been clear as mud to this point.

The Cubs, however, are exploring the idea of selling Marquee outside their geographic footprint, making available the rest of the network’s programming – highlight shows, documentaries and old games from the WGN library. The Yankees’ YES Network, for example, has a presence in Florida for their fans and New York transplants.

Sorry if this was already answered, but what’s the deal with MLB.TV? Only blackouts I ever have on there are pirates games. What’s Marquee’s agreement with mlb.tv?

It will be the same as blackouts have been historically. The MLB.tv blackout rules are the same across the board regardless of network. Games involving your local market teams will be blacked out.

Anyone have DirecTV? It is supposed to be on channel 664 but, I can't even get that channel to show up in my guide.

I don't see it either. I believe the network doesn't go live until noon though, so it'll likely show up then.

Showing up for me now, looks like it launches at 1 pm though, not noon.

Yep. It's on there for me too. They have a "coming soon" screen up.

Man this rollout has been an absolute disaster.

It would be magnificent if this somehow completely blew up in their faces.

Networks and providers have engaged in stare down tactics since the advent of cable TV. This is not surprising.

Marquee managers should have streamed the network online for a few weeks. Get people interested in the channel. Putting crap on YouTube (another stupid freaking Ryan Dempster interview? Really?) is not the way. People want to see baseball GAMES! Show them GAMES!!!

on RCN it hasn't started for me yet, it's got a message "You can't view MARQSPHD. this may be because you do not yet subscribe to this channel. Please contact RCN..." It's supposed to be in the package I have and I'm able to stream the channel through the app by logging in with my RCN account.
