Really gonna need Justin Wilson to step up while Edwards is out. Cishek and Pedro can’t do all the heavy lifting in the 6-8 innings and Cishek himself is already overworked.

 

 

I thought we already could use another dependable bullpen arm even with health, now I really think we need one. It sucks Maples can’t figure it out with his stuff but whatever.

Yeah, hell even Eddie Butler wouldn’t be totally useless right now since he can soak up multiple innings. Even though I really think he died and they haven’t told us yet since there’s been nothing about him anywhere.

Carl Edwards Jr. (shoulder) allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning Monday in his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa.

 

Edwards issued two walks, hit a batter, and threw a wild pitch to force in a run. He allowed one hit and a walk while striking out two batters during his first rehab appearance last Friday. He's said to be healthy, but the Cubs are discussing the next step for him. Edwards has been sidelined for over a month with right shoulder inflammation.

As long as his velocity was/is fine I don’t really care. He’ll figure it out enough, if he’s not back until the weekend or next week now it’s not that big of a deal with the offdays this week the bullpen shouldn’t be overly tired.
