Get out of here Pirates, your window is over it was slammed shut in 2015. You’re bums, always have been and always will be. Go find another field of work.

How in the world did that get out if the wind is blowing in like they are saying

I feel like someone makes this post or its inverse like 50 times per season. The wind is a fickle mistress.

Well 85 mph in the heart of the zone can be hit out by any player in this league no matter the wind. That was batting practice.

It didn’t even look like he got all of it and going oppo with it, just seemed like a ball that in no way should get out.

so it's pretty likely the reason the score swapped zaidman and grote this year was so they could get coomer off the play by play (since zaidman has lots of experience doing it), right?

I'm with you. StatCast had it at 100.1 mph and it sure didn't seem like he hit it that hard.

I'd rather have Grote if that were the plan.

Me too. Grote would've been fine at it.

Zaidman just sounds so artificial. Maybe I've been spoiled with Len and Pat, who are so good at making the play by play feel like a conversation even if it isn't.

My guess is Grote didn't want to do it. They would've gone there first, I'd think.

Either way, I can't stand Grote, so I am not really bothered.

Every time an opponent's bat connects with the ball you think it's lone gone.
