Make Knebel throw 40 pitches in this blowout.

Knebel leaving the field unable to use his left leg will have to work.

he's going to opt out

honestly like wat kind of season would it take?

if he goes .300/.390/.500 with good for him defense (say 20+DRS), does he opt out?

.300/.420/.550?

obv i'm just doing this for the fun of talking about it bc there's not a chance in hell

Honestly I think he could get top 5 MVP votes and still not opt out.

i wonder how something like that feels. if i twist my ankle very slightly, i turn into a giant baby.

I pulled mine while running the bases in high school... Fell down immediately and had to crawl the last few feet to the base. Couldn't do any type of running for a week or so, and then for the next month or so it still hurt to run. Stabbing type pain after the fact.

He'd have to have two solid seasons, right? One's not going to be enough. But if he put up back to back .290/.360/.490 type seasons he might opt out. But even then I think it would depend on how the free agent market goes next season. If there's another offseason of only the top handful of guys getting big deals, he might not feel like it's worth the risk.

I’d prefer the main account not play in to this and just ignore it for the silliness it is and leave it to us message board underlings to make fun of

Yeah there’s no chance he opts out after the year. He’d have to put those numbers up the next two years and opt out a year after next.

Edit: I was at the game tonight and it got me thinking that I saw Heyward homer in Miller Park in 2016 at some point and saw one again tonight. I've seen 10% of Heyward's HR's as a Cub in person in about ~10 games I've been to in person since 2016...... so I have that going for me, which is nice
