Muncy, Bellinger and Pederson combined for a whopping 15 HR vs LHP. Bellinger had a .681 OPS vs LH and Pederson had a .512.

How did sitting those guys work out for him?

There’s an alternate universe where Roberts started all three guys in both games, they went a combined 1-14 with 8 Ks off Sale and Price and lost all three games, and alternate universe Derwood is laughing at Roberts for not starting righties instead.

Maybe, but batting 9 righties in a row is generally a bad idea no matter what the splits of your hitters are

Let's the opposing pitcher get into a rhythm and repeatable approach. Giving him a different look once or twice in the lineup forces him to adjust

With 2 outs and RISP, the Red Sox, AS A TEAM, are slashing better than '41 Ted Williams.

I wonder what that feels like

They should just start innings with 2 outs. Not starting the inning with 2 outs isn't working for them.

Sure helped Sale get into a rhythm in Game 1 when he gave up 3 runs and 7 baserunners in 4 innings. He also gave up just as many runs, just as many baserunners and struck out fewer batters the second time through the order.

Price was also worse the second time through (0-8 with a walk and 3 Ks the first time vs 3-6, 2 BB and 2 Ks the second), though the Dodgers were 0-6 the third time.

If the the Dodgers avoid a sweep, Sunday will have home games in LA for the Dodgers, Clippers, Kings and Rams. A team from all four major sports leagues having a home game in the same city has only happened once before, in Phoenix of all places in 2001.

Joe Buck apparently would call both the Rams and Dodgers game Sunday.

The most surprising thing to me is that Staples center is doing hockey and basketball on the same day. I don't pay enough attention to the Blackhawks, does the United Center ever do that?

I was in LA 2 years ago and went to a Kings game at like 11 AM local time and a Lakers game at night at 8 PM. I think they do that a lot out there. I guess I’d assume they have too with two NBA teams and an NHL team sharing that stadium.

Jesus Christ, Machado

The ESPN radio announcers spent about an inning and a half actively campaigning for Machado to not be signed by anyone because he is such a lazy, loafing player

The Dodgers are definitely going to lose this game because replay is dumb.

I thought his fingers touched the bag right when the tag happened.

It was close, and I totally get the "too close to overturn" reasoning, but the burden of proof is just so damn inconsistent.

He was definitely out but thanks to Bellingers throw it didn't end up mattering.
