Couldn't we have tried one more play before kicking a near 50 yarder with that idiot?

Maybe not, but either way. One week closer to Fox being fired

Well we would have had more time if we used our TOs more optimally...

I still don't get why pace/fox has obstinately held on to Barth.

Another up and down game by Mitch (more up than down though) but I have to say his reads were a lot better today.

horsefeathers off with the up and down day from Mitch. Jesus Christ

Didn't they spend like $1M to try and find his replacement?

Yes, but they chose to hang on to him nonetheless.

I mean, Mitch played like a [expletive] hero, you slob.

I'm pretty convinced he's going to be a top 5 QB.

1 loss closer to Fitzpatrick. Glad to see Houston and New York win.

Top 5 in the division?

Huh? He had 88 passer rating and ran for 53 yards.

Lol. Up and down seems like a perfectly reasonable description of Mitch’s performance. There was even a “more up than down” qualifier.

Up and down makes it seem like he got picked twice or something. He was steady, and then great at the end.

LOL, Passer Rating

He showed great pocket presence all game, didn't get picked, ran for a lot of yards, made his progressions like a champ, and played extremely well in the 4th quarter. I think his play today bodes well for the future.

I still think it’s a fine description. I was happy with his performance in general but there were enough poor decisions/throws (and the fumble) to prevent me from calling it an unqualified success. It was fun to see the mobility today though.

It's good progress to see, I'm just making fun of you crowning him after what was fairly average stats day

Mitch was fine. Pretty comfortably above average. Last drive, receivers just not getting open consistently. He did miss Wheaton on a couple plays, one on an easy pitch and catch that would have converted a 3rd and 9, the other on the last drive which I'll chalk up to their lack of timing together due to Wheaton's constant injuries.

I'm really excited for next year. Obviously, we have Goff and Wentz as recent examples of guys who have struggled as rookies to go on to MVP caliber sophomore seasons. And honestly, Trubisky's been much better than Goff was last year. His over QB rating looks similar to Wentz's last year, but his numbers are boosted by not throwing INTs while Wentz threw for many more yards per game. This is Trubisky's 4th game with a QB rating of 88 or higher out of 6 starts. Considering he's doing it with no WR help, lost his top TE, and with a middle school offensive scheme, I have extremely high hopes for 2018.
