Week 8 - Single digit passing attempts team vs. Old Man McGee

Trubisky looks like Tim Tebow. 13-30? The WR's are bad but he's missing badly on throws.

he's a rookie. get the horsefeathers out of here.

Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson might be the NFL MVP

And he has 6 targets better than anything the Bears have

There are four big numbers that tell the story to this point:

Fourth-highest percentage of negatively graded throws

Ninth-highest percentage of turnover-worthy plays

Lowest drop rate in the league by receivers, only two drops

Charged with four sacks, tied for seventh among quarterbacks

Watson is simply missing too many throws, as evidenced by an adjusted completion percentage of 66.1 percent that ranks 33rd out of 34 qualifiers. His completion percentage of 61.5 percent ranks 24th in the league, and that’s aided by his having only two drops all season. The four sacks charged to Watson (as opposed to blockers) were made even worse by two fumbles due to poor ball security, but those plays do not show up in his stats and they’re rarely separated out in other metrics.

youre right case settled. 3 year college starter with 4 receivers better than the Bears best WR has performed better after a handful of games mostly on his ability to throw 50/50 balls and have receivers that can catch them.

Just threw a bomb to Will Fuller on his first pass in the toughest stadium to play in. Yes, he wouldn't nearly be good on the Bears but it's looking like the Bears screwed up.

read the article. throwing bombs isn't what makes QB's good.

And now just threw a pick 6

How can you say it's looking like the bears screwed up when presented with a ton of stats that show his performance has benefitted from luck and playmakers not to mention you are drawing this conclusion based off a 4 games and comparing QBs that are in vastly different stages of their development.

If you want to argue that the Bears should have drafted Watson because he is more polished and maybe more of a sure thing to be at least serviceable in the NFL, then fine but that opinion was already determined before either stepped on the field and nothing we've seen so far makes a difference. I like the risk the Bears took and I think Mitch has shown me enough to make me because he has a higher upside than Watson.

like a rookie QB

I like everything about his skill set but this is a bug not a feature

well, you can look at it from the development side or the scouting side. from the development side it's a reason, from the scouting side it's a big.

Then read this article: http://uproxx.com/ksk/f-k-it-im-throwing-it-downfield/

Edit: geez it's been awhile since I've read that article and my worldview and tolerance for words in that article has changed. Maybe don't read it

Surrounding a "franchise" qb with these receivers is football malpractice.

i'm putting shaheen on my horsefeathers list if he doesn't develop some chemistry with mitch now that miller is out

If you are choosing the less developed QB, he should probably have the higher upside. I believe Mitch does.

Wright played like absolute dogshit today. he blew routes, dropped passes, ran poor routes, etc.

you forgot to mention the Miller pass was an absolute thing of beauty.

Not fair putting a horsefeathers receiver on the horsefeathers list, he belongs no where else.

and if they count the TD, the Bears probably win.

Mitch is not good at finding the rare open receiver. This coaching staff and roster is probably going to waste whatever NFL skill he may have.

i'm really liking Payton right now to replace Fox.
