10/17 - NLCS Game 3 - dodgers (Darvish) @ World Champs (Prof. Hendricks) - 8:00

It just seems like none of the Dodgers hitters are swinging at anything outside the zone, which forces Hendricks to be perfect when he comes in the zone. If he isn't going to get the calls just off the corners, and the Dodgers aren't going to swing, it doesn't allow for any margin of error.

That's gonna be like 200 MPH off the bat with a 99.99999999% hit expectancy or whatever.

Baseball sucks balls when it does this.

Can baseball ban the shift already?

Heck no. Every hitter has it within his power to make teams stop playing the shift. They just don’t do it.

If I were manager I’d force everyone to bunt into the shift.

Especially rizzo. He gets a more severe shift than most.

Yeah I don't really want that, but it is frustrating to watch left handed hitters all across the league repeatedly hit right into it.

Opposing teams would be thrilled if our perennial 30 HR 100 RBI player would just drop bunts all game

If it works half the time that's a .500/.500/.500/1.000 line.

There are few players who wouldn’t be better off in the long run taking a free single. Bonds on roids might be one of them. The analytics argue its successful only x percent of the time. But I don’t think it takes into account that it will deter the shift eventually. And the outcome should be a hit or foul ball strike. Out is very unlikely. You still have a shot later in the count swinging away.
