Contrary to popular belief the Bears are actually going to play regular season games this year.

Their starting QB is Glennon and Mitch is playing the role of Mike Pence, one heartbeat away from office.

Bears are 7 point dogs at home, which reflects widespread skepticism about this highly untalented football team.

Go team.

My guess is he'd have to be pretty damn terrible to lose the job in the first 4-6 games. Pace is probably hoping for sustained mediocrity and losing games by less than a TD (the John Fox specialty). In the weeks coming up to the bye week, that will be when not being good enough to win will risk Glennon's job, as the bar will be raised.

I think a couple multi interception games could doom him. But some Hoyer-like, ball protection, 14 point performances keeps him safe for a while.

The schedule makes it hard to expect this team to be good, but other than the receivers, I like this team quite a bit. I think Kendall Wright can create separation on short slant routes, but I honestly have no idea what to expect out of Kevin White, Marcus Wheaton, Deonte Thompson and Josh Bellamy. Cutler was able to move the ball with Bellamy, an unknown at the time Cam Meredith and a group of other unknowns, but now it's Glennon trying to find openings. I fully expect to see an Alex Smith ball control style offense where no ball is thrown more than 10 yards which is going to really hurt the chances of the running game being good.

I really want to see this defense. I think they have a chance to be really good.

Loggains is gonna throw the ball, don't worry.

Sounds like Wheaton won't be ready to go this week. 3 wides will be White, Wright and ?? Thompson or Bellamy I guess. If Wheaton is out, is Tre McBride the only other active WR? Do you think Shaheen is 3rd or 4th on the depth chart behind Miller and Sims?

McPhee and Wheaton as injury scratches

Sanchez a healthy scratch

Assuming no other injury issues, 4 more healthy scratches;

Mizzell, Bush, Brown, Sowell would be my guess.

I guess Brown could get the call over McBride since he knows the offense. Maybe the keep Bush active as they only have 4 S, but not sure who else - don't think they kept Burton to not have him active... Fuller if the feel okay about Prince's foot...

Fuller is going to start. Not only that, I think they're going to give him Julio.

Not much difference between Wheaton and Wright. Fox loves Bellamy, but Thompson had a pretty good preseason. I think they'll start Thompson, because of his speed.

I'm really hoping the Falcons have underestimated the Bears' front 7.

I mean, maybe Ryan gets a beat down early and breaks his collarbone, Schaub comes in and panic ensues.

had no idea schaub was back with atlanta

thought i just time warped reading your post

If you would have asked me before I read that, I would have guessed he retired 2 years ago

You think Fuller starts over a healthy Cooper and Prince?

I don't think Prince will go on Sunday, and I think that they feel that Fuller has a better shot at covering Jones. I think Fuller will push out Cooper eventually, too.

DId Fox really say something along the lines of "If you hold the Falcons to around 30 points, you have a good chance to win"
