I had no idea Daniel horsefeathering Murphy was doing so well again this year.

And what's going on with Rendon's hair? I guess everyone wants to have Harper's glorious locks.

I'm very interested to see Kyle today. I think he's been mostly good since coming back. And I'd love to see him work deeper into a game to see how his stuff is working in the 6th or 7th on the third time through. Perhaps it's wishful thinking against this lineup, though.

This was the kiss of death, right here.

That and you came back from vacation.

Look, if you guys want to put together a GoFundMe to send me back on vacation through the end of the season, I will be happy to make the sacrifice.

So Kyle with diminished velocity is bad. Contact management can only go so far and despite what we've told ourselves his command is nowhere near an 80 grade tool. Regression was inevitable but he's a mid-tier 5th starter at this point.

Hendricks has a 3.89 ERA this year, which is like a 110 ERA+. That also includes his crummy first couple starts, his ERA is 3.25 since the 3rd week of April. It's 2.91 since coming off the DL. In the time it took me to make this post he put up another scoreless inning too, so tick all of those down slightly.

And as far as contact management, Hendricks' GB% is higher this year than last. His average exit velocity is lower this year than last. I think his HR/FB is fluky high, though I can't say that for sure since this juiced ball era is so weird. He could just be a guy that is going to be adversely affected by it.

But his main problem early in the year was walking guys. And, since coming back, his two walks today are the only he's given up.
