every throw is right on the horsefeathering money

This was apparent in his workouts. His ball placement is phenomenal.

And that release, that release. The legends are true.

horsefeathers everyone who tells me I can't get excited because it was a meaningless preseason game. Being a Bears fan the last several years has been about as exciting as reading the phone book so I reserve the right to get overly pumped up about something that might look stupid down the road.

10 things:

1) Mitch should be #2 now.

2) Bears will trade or cut Fuller.

3) People around the league and sports media world are having fun hyping Mitch.

4) Bullard played well.

5) Cruz finishing the first preseason game may or may not be a sign he's low man.

6) Leonard Floyd!

7) Other draftees played well.

8) Patrick Mannelly says don't get carried away with Mitch.

9) Dave Toub's former underling was ST coach for Denver.

10) Scouts from 10 clubs were represented at the game, including first four regular-season opponents

10a. Jonathan Anderson might have a bad injury.

10b. Three more practices in Bourbonnais.

10c. Text message from NFC pro personnel director earlier this week: “Dolphins just got 2 wins better this season.” Time will tell.

So, with the obvious qualifier that it's extremely early, but through one preseason game and through training camp, this looks like a really good draft class.

Jackson is going to grab one of the safety spots sooner than later. Flashed the ballhawk ability last night a little bit.

Shaheen, by all accounts during camp, a couple drops aside last night, looks legitimate. Cohen flashed his speed and looks like he's gonna be very fun to watch.

Don't need to really say more about Mitch.

I will not criticize you for getting excited about Trubisky, I will criticize anybody who watched a preseason game though.

Yeah, I think this is gonna be a good draft class. And it's exciting because it's not a bunch of guards and D tackles. They stacked up skill positions, and got guys who could potentially be electric home run hitter types. I think Gentry sticks too and ends up as at least a solid #3 type.

And yeah, that was real nice watching Trubisky show off all those physical tools and accuracy. It was against bums who weren't blitzing but not sure how you look at that and have any interest in raining on the Trubisky parade today.

And Floyd...dude looked good. Bullard too, albeit against O-linemen that probably aren't going to play. Definitely the most fun I've had watching a Bears game in a few years.

as someone who is far from an expert in nfl contract issues/salary cap stuff, is there some reason the bears would be cutting fuller? or is it just an issue of not thinking he's good enough to be on the roster?

they don't think he's worth what he's owed in the final year of his contract. They've questioned his commitment coming back from injury and basically are just looking for an opportunity to cut him.

Able players are cut all the time if they either don't fit a system or rub coaches the wrong way.
