TIL (I'm an idiot) that MB is actually in same league as Kinston, NC new team "Down East Wood Ducks"! So excited - they come to Kinston (about 30 min drive April 20th!

EJM, De La Cruz, and Kellog jump off the roster to me as players to pay attention to. Any other noteworthy or particularly intriguing prospects I should keep an eye on when I can make it to a game?

Thomas Hatch and Adbert Alzolay, as far as Starters go. Justin Steele too, was a bit surprised he got bumped up actually, after struggling last year in SB.

Pedro Araujo throws hard out of the pen. I guess he's worth looking at.

Higgins is fairly interesting. Gets on base and has picked up Catching quickly after being converted.

Carlos Sepulveda is DEFINITELY worth watching. He's starting to get some prospect love. He's only 20 and didn't get a huge bonus, so he's a surprise.

Thank you! Must have skimmed over Hatch when I was reviewing the roster. I'll certainly take a look at Carlos Sepulveda.

I'm far from a scout, of course, but I'll be happy to provide feed back. Will take a look at a game on the weekend of 4/21 I hope (maybe a couple). Crossing fingers I can see a De La Cruz start.

Pretty good night for Underwood. 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.

Let's see if he can keep that up...

Wowow look at those Ks. Keep it up and stay healthy.

Still don't think he'll get enough innings to ramp up to be a big league starter.

I didn't think I'd see the day that Underwood would strike out 8 guys in one game. (He's actually had 8 once before, apparently.)

I'm in on Mekkes, too. Weird relief pitchers are the best, and he's actually good, too.

Pretty nice to see Parades starting off so well. Long season, it's one week. But it's so common for any guy to start slow in April, and perhaps especially for a warm-weather kid up in the Midwest League. Very nice.

Will be interesting to see how Mekkes does, but fun to see quick start.

Weird to see Underwood with good stats like that. We're almost so accustomed to saying critical stuff for him, it would be fun if he was able to do some good. Lets see how next start goes.

Prospect of the Night: Duane Underwood... =D>

5IP, 4H, 2ER, 1BB, 8K.

His stuff is top notch. If he can figure it out, he'll be a heck of an asset. He's still real young, too.

He was missing a lot of bats last night, that's a great sign.

Watched the game on MiLB.com and the Blue Wahoos announcers were very complimentary of Underwood. What I liked was his poise and pace (along with his stuff). He pitched like he belonged.

Interesting K numbers given his history, for sure. We'll see if this K/9 continues. Two of his 8 Ks did come against the pitcher but what was nice to see was that 3 of them came in the 4th after starting the inning hit, error, hit and allowing a run, he then struck out the next 3 batters. Almost like he could do it when he needed to.

It'd be nice if that were the case but it's just one start. He's got 20+ more to go...

Good notes, thanks.

He needs to stay healthy, he's had little fluke injuries the last couple seasons.

If he can pitch the whole season, continue to progress and end the year at Iowa, he puts himself back on the map.
