Or the opposing pitcher

well that is just silly

and i was never worried about rizzo. russell, fine, he made a mechanical adjustment that seems to have clicked. rizzo's thing was mostly just baseball being baseball.

but the opposing pitcher, especially when you're talking clayton horsefeathering kershaw over the dudes we beat up on the last two games, definitely matters a lot. come on now. the temperature usually does, too. especially talking 85 vs 45.

I thought we were talking about Hill.

I thought we were talking about Hill.

it became both

Ehh, game 3, Cubs offense was ice cold and Hill left a few up. I don't anticipate the offense being cold in game 7, if we get there

i don't think what the offense has done the last two days has much bearing on what will happen vs kershaw and hill in 40 degrees this weekend.

that doesn't mean i'm all that worried, either, mind you. (nor was that really my point...it's that you would never guess that both we wouldn't feel supremely confident with jake vs rich hill in a game 7 and that we'd get to game 7 of the NLCS despite jake not being god mode)

The temp was in the 70's game 1 and the offense was meh save Montero. The biggest change is Russell and Rizzo, and they both had been out of it for a lifetime long time. I doubt temperature has much to do with that

i also reject the premise that the offense was a problem in game 1, but whatever

It wasn't great game 1. And I feel pretty confident that they do score on Kershaw, but was mainly making the point about Hill

hey guys how did the bears do ton-...ah horsefeathers

There will likely never be a time I care less about a Bears loss. Checking... Bears don't play next Sunday. So yep.

Just think, the next time the Bears take the field, the Cubs could be World Series champs having clinched at Wrigley Field.

If they were serious about trying something they should've just tried stealing 2nd before Lester was even in his windup to guarantee he'd be the one throwing.

Which would've looked extra funny when Lester guns him down at 2nd by rolling the baseball like a bowling ball there.

I'd have a hard time trying it out in the playoffs, but I don't understand why no one did it in the regular season

and today is wife's bday. she's not happy about all this playoff baseball but i told her she better get used to it. i'll do something nice for her in november.

Let us know how that turns out.

...she was a little upset.

BUT we had dinner reservations tomorrow basically at first pitch, and she insisted we change our plans because of the game. Lucky man.

Here's our view of the last out last night. Not exactly the most exciting fan video, especially since the fans in front of me blocked the view of Rizzo. Also my wife went kinda crazy celebrating, mainly because the horsefeather Dodger fan behind us kept yelling something about "Smelling a goat" throughout the 9th.
