Also, while there were definitely still hiccups, despite all the attacks the board seemed more stable last night and only a couple of crashes that I remember. Thanks for your hard work our fearless leader!

Nah, people saying ridiculous stuff in the heat of the moment is obnoxious, but Kyle's dumb shtick was just straight up gleeful trolling for the sake of trolling, like he inexplicably revels in misery over the team he's a fan of.

 

I'm not saying I want him banned so much as his role in the game threads going forward basically needs to be reduced to being the screaming slave lashed to the ramming spear on the front of a Roman war galley from the original Ben-Hur.

Yeesh. The way you guys keep talking, guess I'm glad I didn't look at the game thread once during the game. I only looked at the last 15-20 pages from last night (whenever exactly it was that good things started happening).

Kyle last night was the epitome of why I invented the phrase "doom boner" because of him in the first place; reading it all after the fact I was kind of amazed at how much typing and furtive, sweaty rubbing he could do at the same time.

There were a bunch of hits from St Louis, for example, during the 6-8th innings yesterday. But there were also times that I was able to see a lot of "threads" popping up in memory on the server that looked like they were just completely random hits on old topics & such. A lot of that traffic wasn't showing up on Google Analytics, which wasn't showing many hits to those topics. So as the games were going along, I had the process manager running the whole time and I was killing any suspicious looking queries. At one point, I removed access to the archives because it takes so much more processing on that database.
