Well, in summation, only my teams lose like this.

But the Bears really should have been trying harder the past few years at developing a QB. Hopefully 2017 is when they start.

If some young QB were doing what Hoyer was, we'd be all, yeah, we're fine.

If Garrrapolo was doing this, I'd be driving the release Cutler in the offseason bandwagon.

The NFL is not a developmental league.

If you have a QB doing what Hoyer's doing, there's no reason why he cant do it for 3-4 more years.

Potential v the known.

What more can be known if a Qb throws for 1k yards in 3 games?

This is probably the best 3 games of his career, let alone consecutive. I'm still weighting the other 25 or whatever.

And sure the NFL is a developmental league. Good teams develop players all the time.

With Hoyer, this is pretty much his upside.

If this were Garrapolo or Christian Hackenberg or whomever, the perception of further development and improvement would be there, merited or not.

Maybe, but guys like Hoyer are your poster boys for development.

:-)

Plus Hoyer is a journeyman who couldn't hold down a starting job in Cleveland. I'm inclined to think he won't remain this good for the rest of the season.

But isn't the NFL developmental? People are saying it is.

I don't feel comfortable banking on the Rich Gannon career track.

Seriously can't think of another example like that either.

so, is Meredith actually good? Could Alshon walk next year and we go with White, Meredith, Royal and co?

I would not willingly let Alshon walk and plan to have Meredith planned as part of my top 3 WR core. His play early on should put White on notice though. He was equally as raw as White coming out...

You can talk about development and the negate what Hoyer has done as not development.

You want development, this is what youre gonna get.

I'm not negating what Hoyer has done these three games or his career. I've actually always liked Hoyer, but I think its silly to think theres been some new development that should be making us reevaluate his career. He's done a good job, but the offense still has little to show for it, and he's shown he still has some real limitiations.

uhh sure if you don't care if we have good WRs or not

Usually I get your schtick, but this is utter nonsense. Quit pretending you don't know what he's saying here.
