Wait, how don't you like Lester?

He's definitely not plus plus likeability. He's kinda jerkfacy.

This is a really really really odd take

Is their some bald blaming going on, perhaps?

It pretty funny that the greatest swoon the Cubs suffered, and the Cardinals greatest push, resulted in them drawing as close as.......6 and a half games

It's one of the smoothest divisional wins of the wild card era

Maybe I'm alone in this, but it really doesn't matter to me that they officially clinched on a loss, as they've pretty much had the division locked up since June.

Agreed. If this were a team that had been battling tooth and nail to get into the playoffs, then it might be a bigger deal. Winning the NLCS at home on the other hand...

I want the Cubs to win 103. It just seems to be a different tier above 100-102 and that would put us at 200 wins over the past two seasons.

How many teams in the last year have done 200 in two seasons? Im sure the 116 win Mariners and the late 90s yankees but not sure about others?

With our JV lineup I'm not sure we get to that.

Probably more like 3 or 4, but let's not pretend our JV lineup isn't still better than most of the teams we're playing from here on out

I doubt there will be many more full jv lineup days. Individuals will get days off, but there will not be a lot of days where Russell, Bryant, Rizzo, Fowler and Zobrist all sit.

And we have to go 12-4 to get there. Just don't see it happening. But I've been negative on everything all week.

you are taking my post very seriously (even though 12-4 is far from unheard of)

I mean, yea, i'm responding to 105 wins as a target with what we need to get there. :dontknow:

I wasn't inferring that you were going to burst into flames if we didn't get there if that's what you mean.

Just boardin' on a message board.

I want a number over 100, and it would be cool to have losses under 60, because that just look absurd

Last team to win that much over 100 was the 2009 Yankees with 103 and they comfortably won the World Series (its weird how little this team gets brought up with all the GOOD TEAMS ALWAYS LOSE garbage) and before that the 2004 Cardinals with 105 wins I think and they got undressed and swept in 4 games by the Red Sox which was pretty lol

I'm looking back through the records and jesus that 2011 Philies team was absurd - won 102 games, had Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt all at the top or near the top of their game. Maybe the best comp for us in the recent history, except our offense and defense is way better)

it was a silly throwaway post (despite the fact that it is far from impossible)

I count Lester, Lackey, Chapman, and Sealboy. But your point still stands.

I had to de-lurk to say that Lackey moved to the "like" side of my ledger with his "Not here for a haircut; I came for jewelry" post-game interview.
