I'm in! Not sure if I'll be able to go...but I'm in!

You know if you can't make it...I know someone who would love to go :)

My nephew and I are trying to figure a way to go. Once I get tickets, I will have to beg the wife.

We are trying to figure out if we can make the drive there in one day and the drive back in another if we split the drive time.

I'd say that's very doable. I've done Chicago to Atlanta (about the same distance) in straight shots before. Split up, it should be a piece of cake if you're both well rested.

To the people that lost

lets keep telling ourselves that our lottery odds just increased for the NLCS and World Series

I didn't get an e-mail.

Gmail filtered it to Promotions.

There's a Promotions folder?

Yeah mine was there.

Between my wife, me, my brother, and friends we had about 15 email addresses and all were rejections. I think I read somewhere it was about a 20-1 chance of being selected.

Not including this board, I know about 45 people/email addresses that registered, and not one won. I keep trying to offer up $100+face value for a single ticket to people that won on Reddit, twitter and here, but I'm probably offering much less than what the scalpers are. Really want to go but can't break the bank more than $100+face so looks like I'm SOL for the division series :(

Considering Stubhub is going for 275 for SRO...

They threw some disclaimer on there about only the first email address utilized would be accepted. I can't remember how else they verified entries, address maybe?

What about doing Murphy's bleachers all inclusive deal that was floating around in this thread?

True, but it seemed like, last year, at least, the StubHub numbers really drastically dipped closer to the game. Like tickets that were listing for $700 wound up going for less than half that. Basically, I think a lot of those numbers are inflated right now and will come back down to reality (even though they still won't be "cheap")

This year game 1 and 2 are on Friday and Saturday, last year they were Monday, Tuesday for the home games. I think prices will be a lot higher.

Yeah I know its not a competitive offer, but its an offer over face, and presumably some people don't want to go through the hassle of listing on stubhub/craigslist etc and would rather make it quick and easy while helping a Cub fan. No one wants to panic when their stubhub tickets aren't selling and the prices are dropping and you just want to get rid of them at whatever profit you can so you don't have to worry about it anymore. I've been there before.

Either way I know its a shot in the dark, but my odds are 0% if I don't try and maybe 1% if I do :)

Rooftop ticket for $150 for NLDS Game 1? Hmmmm even if its one of the blocked rooftops it might not be bad deal if I'm planning to be there anyways. Ample TVs and free food and drinks.

https://www.groupon.com/deals/gl-cubs-playoffs

It's completely blocked. This is a food and drink package for $150.

Well guess who has two thumbs and is drinking 47 Bud Lights and eating 87 cocktail weenies.

Only $130 for Game 5, which is weird since it looks fully refundable.

No view of the field, but there's value in being able to hear/see the crowd. I can't remember how synced up the televisions are on those rooftops...my buddy lives on Kenmore a half block from the left field bleachers with a rooftop, but it's almost more annoying than cool because the TV feed is a good 5-10 seconds behind live action. Almost better to just watch it at a bar and watch the action develop with everyone else there.
