Maddon tends to play the odds when it comes to career stats vs. a pitcher, i've noticed

(as do most managers) ... So its a good line-up predictor

I think Maddon really only uses that when he has almost nothing else to go on for a borderline call.

I'm sure Heyward's sparkling numbers against Nolasco over his career means he's going to put on a glorious display of line shots tonight.

I hope stem cells work out well for Richards. It's the now and even more the future, the less blades on arms the better

I thought I had read that those types of stem cell treatments (just shooting these guys up with stem cells like, I think, Colon did) were quackery. Is there something that has changed? Is this something different?

It's going to be insane if/when they can grow people replacement organs and eliminate the need for transplant lists and anti-rejection meds and all that.

I love J-Hey, but I get really confused at how his overall numbers translate to him being worth 15 million this season. The defense is glorious but there is no way I'm watching a guy that people would give $15 million to.

But I know the way things are calculated proves me wrong.

also $15M isn't a lot for a baseball player

Very true, but I still think they look different than this.

I hope they work for him mostly for the fact he'd be one of my favorite trade targets this offseason if he can come back. Which is likely wishful thinking for more reasons than one.

Numbers for $ per FA WAR have hit as high as $9-10 million in recent years.

Here is another question. Say in a fake world that teams knew Heyward would be this same exact player next season. Does everyone sign him for one year and $15 million based on the way he got his WAR? I assume yes since WAR is WAR but it's so weird.
