Jimenez is 3-3 with 2 2Bs, a HR, and 3 RS. He's scored half the runs and driven in 4 of SB's 6 so far.

Sidekick Eddy Martinez, batting second, is 1/2 with a walk and RS. Sepulveda is 2/2 with a walk and RS himself up to .326 this season.

Cease only faced 5 batters before being pulled. He struck out one and walked the other four.

:?

Likely pitch count. Cubs have a strict inning pitch count on pitching prospects - I believe they're pulled if they top 30 in an inning and 4 BB and 1 K could easily get you to 30.

eloy's ranks in the MWL:

2nd in batting average

9th in OBP

1st in SLG

1st in OPS

2nd in hits

9th in runs

1st in doubles

1st in home runs

1st in RBI

good chance he will win league MVP as a 19 year old in full season ball.

if those reports about the yankees getting a choice of eloy or gleyber, i'm super glad they took gleyber.

Could an Eloy promotion be far behind? At this point, he's just being a jerk to these poor low A pitchers.

Isn't it a little late for a call up? Besides that SB will be in the playoffs at the end of the season. I'm not sure about MB.

In less sexy news, enigma wrapped in a riddle who's often confused with a small-breed show dog, Bijan Rademacher is helping his case as a trade throw in, or at least a Rule 5 pick.

He's a guy who always seems to produce but never gets any love in the prospect rankings. I'm sure he'd never be more than a 4th outfielder in the majors but yeah I could see him being a Rule 5 pick from someone.

Gleyber got promoted the last week or so of last season from SB to MB, which seems like a good blueprint. Of course Myrtle Beach was in the playoffs last year and might not make it this year. South Bend is already in the playoffs.
