For those not watching, Baez booted the ground ball, but kept it in front of him. Despite it being a grounder to third, Marte ran on the play, anyway. Baez had no chance to get the hitter at first, but was able to run Marte back to second base, toss it to Zobrist to tag him out.

Nah, the Baez pic carried over into the bad times. I think Castro really is a good luck totem. As much as I will miss ogling Jake's majestic ass, it's time for drastic measures.

in this vein i would like to petition for our game thread starter to remove heyward from his signature. whenever he removed starlin last year, castro went on a tear.

to be fair, he may have had a chance had he scooped the ball and fired to first. it was certainly the safer play to get Marte, but i'm not sure it was a sure error in the fact they both would have been safe at 1st and 2nd.
