Giants after being traded earlier today. Excited for the opportunity to play for the team I grew up cheering for. Go black n orange!

The original Shawon has a job in the Giants organization, maybe they sold him there as a courtesy instead of releasing him. Kinda the inverse of when the Cubs traded for someone else's kid(I forget who it was now, Scoscia?) so they could be the ones to release him instead of dad's team.

Gleyber HR

And a walk and no K's. Man, he's been great. Any chance he spends any real time in AA this year?

I figure he'd get a month there, IF he's still here after the deadline.

5 2 0 0 1 5 line on 59 pitches for Tseng. We may not have any pitching that's hit the majors yet under this regime, but its coming. Guys like Blackburn and Tseng are going to pitch in the majors, in some capacity. I feel more comfortable with them than I do with Johnson at this point.

In fact, I think I'd take Blackburn over Underwood too, in a total career type standoff.

That's a big jump for Brooks - A ball to AAA. Probably temporary as that seems to happen from time to time

Brooks is the guy the Cubs got for Coghlan back in spring. He's been at AAA the last few seasons.

I'm not ready to go that far yet, as I still think Pierce Johnson could make far a dang interesting pen arm, and to a certain extent, I do wonder about Underwood in the pen, although oddly, I'm not as intrigued about that option as I am about Pierce in the pen (comparatively speaking). Dunno what it is ... feel like Pierce could perhaps attack guys a bit more than Underwood?

If Blackburn and Tseng are the types of guys we are crowing about in 2-3 years as guys who made it ... that isn't exactly a great note. It's nice. I mean ... that's like Orioles commentators (forgot who I was listening to the other day) crowing about the MIke Wright's and Tyler WIlson's of the world ... it's nice to develop those guys, but most organizations have those types, and those are the guys you splash a little money to fill out the depth charts.

WIth the way things are sort of log-jamming at the top of the system in some areas (sort of), I'm not averse to dealing some pieces off for pitching prospects, if possible. Just not a lot to really get excited about, arm wise, so far. Of course, bigger trades have priority first.

I'm not even saying they'll ever pitch for us. There's been a few articles this week where McLeod has said they've not developed there own pitching yet. But with the success they've had with hitting, coupled with bringing Hendricks into the system and even developing Rondon......I think he's being hard on himself intentionally. We've got upper end position players and the strength in numbers approach to pitching will show itself relatively soon, just not at a high rate, unless Cease develops. But we've got p!enty of guys that likely wind up with major league careers.

We need Edwards to be a factor for us. The control usually doesn't come back to bite him, but it obviously did tonight. Part of me wonders if he eases off the velo a bit, if the control comes back somewhat.

You're thinking of Aaron Brooks.

Whoops, I was the one who mistyped Craig in my first post. Yeah, it was Aaron Brooks who got bumped up.
