Not putting any comebacks past this team, but it's hard to sweep a doubleheader. Just annoying that we basically beat ourselves today.

this isn't a thing and has nothing to do with how this game will play out

it's no harder than winning any two consecutive games

You sure about that? Often you aren't starting the lineup you'd be able to start if it was back-to-back days rather than on both and you also are dealing with bullpen choices you might not normally have to deal with. I imagine it is harder.

there was a time when I think I would have been more excited with this current situation

assuming you mean heyward, i'm just hoping for a walk. that's fairly realistic.

exactly. he makes me sad now

Rodney is their closer, so it would be really nice to at least get 1 or 2 here as he's more than capable of blowing a save. Edited by Cubswin11

Think about what you just said. In baseball, you play another team.

i have a sudden irrational desire to join the move heyward down brigade.

I don't know that I'd call it "irrational"

i'm not one to care much at all about lineup construction as long as dusty baker isn't doing it

I don't think you should be, is what I'm saying. It's not impossible to win a doubleheader and it happens of course, but there are definitely things that make it more difficult than winning on back to back days.

We'll win like 14-0 tonight.

well it's hard to sweep a double header, so that should give us a nice edge.

Well, if you consider that your opponent is faced with the exact same lineup and bullpen issues as you, I'm not sure why it would be any easier or harder than winning any other consecutive games.

go find me proof that double headers are swept less often than any two consecutive baseball games.

until then, i'm not wasting time debating this.

I knew a loss was likely happening in the next few games. It's just frustrating to lose one that we had 2 run lead in the 7th in. Edited by Cubswin11
