any other day that is a walkoff dong

Nah. Another day and this isn't in extras because the Cubs would have already won with the dongs the wind robbed earlier.

Looking forward to seeing how we look this week against real teams. We actually haven't played a team this year that is currently over .500.

Except for 100 other days.

nah

Well, maybe 20 other days because horsefeathers April/Early May in Chicago.

Anyone who calls Wrigley a band box needs to be shown some of these highlights.

I am curious to know what the success rate is when Cubs hitters swing on a 3-1 count. Seems like latey they have been on the verge of a walk and swing on 3-1 and get an out.

Yikes. Looked at the comments section at Bleacher nation (game thread) for the first time in a while. Based on several lovely posters there, you'd think the Cubs just blew their shot at the postseason w/ today's loss. Weird.

The Angels and Cardinals are at .500, the rest of the teams the Cubs have played are below .500.

You guys know how a hit and run works, right?

Yes. Doesn't mean Smith had a "solid hit" like you said.

I happen to think getting the ball on the ground on the general side of the field where the fielder is vacating against a MLB hitter is a really good piece of hitting and doesn't fall in the "cheap hit" category.

A fair bit has to go right for a hitter even if that's what they are trying to do; you can't just make it happen, circumstances have to co-operate. It's not a garbage hit, but it is still in large part a result of good fortune.

I'm surprised they took the time off of posting softcore porn gifs to comment on the game.

Despite the cold, had a great time at Wrigley yesterday. Wish they'd have pulled it out, but at least they gave my son a reason to get excited at the end. Getting to run the bases was a lot of fun for him too. And some random guy gave him a brand new Cubs hat that he said someone had given to him. Ultimately a fun, if chilly day.
