Now here's a play that Pirates broadcaster can get behind. Not showing anyone up, just grabbing that lunch pale and being a real team player.

What's funny about things like the weirdo Pirates announcer not liking his flair or whatever is that there's a lot of little things that make Javy so fun to watch, like his base running, tagging, secondary leads and defense. That horsefeathers signifies the "gritty" aspects that these old school baseball fans typically love.

 

Javy loves the game and shows it and he really isn't even disrespectful when he does it. His style of play should be promoted in this league because it's fun.

It's not just that. Whenever he collides with an opposing player or he's at bat and the catcher gets dinged by a foul tip, he immediately checks with the guy to make sure they're ok. Besides being "showy" I guess, there is nothing unsportsmanlike about him.

yes. but JD is just as good imo with Len. But, if nothing else the chemistry together (which, kudos to Len bc it was essentially the same chemistry w/ bob) makes for an extremely well called ballgame.

 

FTR JD is wayyyy better than bob (and i liked bob).

I love JD, too. We have the best broadcasting team in baseball, probably in all of sports. They should stick together for another 50 years if possible.

 

But Len has a chance to be the next Brickhouse/Scully. Maybe JD could be the first legendary color guy? Seems like a long shot though.

JD has like 5 percent meatball in him (but i have to imagine every former MLB player does to that degree, at least, most more). But, to support your point, yes, I'd argue best booth in sports hands down.Let's keep this rhetoric going.
