Well, Jean Segura just got to the Cards, too. 4-4 tonight and just hit a 3-run shot to give the Diamondbacks a 7-5 lead.

LOL. Great minds think alike or whatever.

i'm glad that the cubs are so good that inexplicable events like hazelbaker donging all the time and almedys diaz becoming the best hitter in baseball are nothing more than minor annoyances.

I love it, because they are still this much worse than us, despite inexplicable things like Hazelbaker donging and Almedys Diaz being the best hitter in baseball. What happens when Almedys Diaz is no longer the best hitter in baseball?

Dexter Fowler will become the best hitter in baseball.

But seriously, Anthony Rizzo will become the best hitter in baseball.

But seriously, Bryce Harper will become the best hitter in baseball.

This all happened after their announcers started talking about how awesome their bullpen has been this year. They -- incorrectly -- thought they had the best bullpen ERA in the league. They no longer have such a nice ERA. In fact, their bullpen ERA now falls in line with their xFIP and FIP, which they had been outperforming.

I know that Dan McLaughlin used the term "small sample size" just now, but I still don't think he knows what that actually means.

This otherwise unspectacular Chris Owings RBI single is bookended by some glorious BFIB sadsackery.

Watching Oakland-Detroit highlights and...does Oakland have Chris Coghlan playing third base some of the time? This reminds me of the Coghlan at Second Experience (wasn't all that embarrassingly awful, until we got Resurgent Castro to come back). Very strange.

BRef is telling me Coghlan played at least one inning at third last year for us but I have no recollection of that.
