Man that would have been awesome

The interesting part is the in-division tax. The Brewers aren't competing with the Cubs this year and next. I think it would have actually been better for them to rob the Cubs of some of their farm system.

Cashman really [expletive] Theo on this one

Well yeah we gave up a lot but this is also a lot for the Indians to give up. Basically emptied their system between this and the Lucroy trade. And word is the Yankees liked Indians prospects more in a Miller trade. They really wanted Frazier.

Why would Lucroy do that? He really must hate Cleveland.

Everybody hates Cleveland. But if he's comparing it to Milwaukee......

Would anyone be upset with a Contreras for Lucroy deal? I love Wilson but only if he can handle a full time workload behind the plate defensively and calling games. I'm not sold on that aspect of his game just yet.

I thought about it but I don't think I would do it. Contreras and Lucroy would make a good 1 2 punch though. I just want Lucroy so we can kick Montero to the curb.

Lucroy wanted his option ripped up, making him a rental. That could be the case for any deal involving him. I thought the return seemed light, that looks to be why. My guess is he's told the Brewers to tell teams that, up front. Surprising he won't go to Cleveland, not a great look for him.

He only has no trade protection to a certain list of teams, though.

Well he's only got a no trade clause to a couple of teams. If he gets traded to the Mets or the Cubs he won't have any leverage in either of those situations and will be forced to play out the remainder of his contract.
