I'm pretty sure that 95% or more of the posters here wanted him to not be with the Cubs this season.

I'm triggered by him being in the organization at all. Him doing poorly makes it less likely he will remain in the organization. I'll keep rooting against him and not feel bad about it.

This might trigger some people. but Russell has posted a line of .333/.392/.571/.964 in 12 games since being demoted after a line of .286/.407/.429/.835 the final 19 games in the majors. Only time he didn't hit in the majors this yeas was when dealing with the hand injury. #BEST25

So to summarize, you're suggesting the Cubs would have been better off the last two weeks starting the guy with the .964 OPS at AAA over the guy with the 1.041 OPS at the ML level?

Happ has started just 4 of 20 at 2nd games since the last time Russell started one.

It's still Happ who would get sent down for Russell to come up.

They could just DFA Tony Kemp like Houston did.

Kemp is over 2 years older than Russell, a far less defender with a lower MLB OPS.

Sorry, need the room for Zobrist, who is 29 years older than Russell, and is much cooler and better in every possible way (despite proven to be a weirdo). Edited by Sammy Sofa

And now he's going to keep starting at 2B, ah-doy.

He may not they already established posting a good OPS starting doesn't allow you to keep the job.

He will be on the Cubs the same time they call up Russell when the rosters expand

You know, you could just cut to the chase and say "I don't want anyone on the team who might take playing time away from Albert Almora."

Zobrist will likely be called up before then so he's eligible for the playoff roster.

I would I say that when I would be more than happy to send Almora down for a better CF option if we had one.

He's already eligible for the playoff roster.

I realize this is a message board so posting messages is what you are supposed to do, but you can't allow Cox to control the conversation in this way. He basically brings up Addison Russell and everyone falls in line by responding with everything we already know.

In this particular case, if Cox posts and nobody responds, it just goes away.

You don't have to be on the 25 man roster to be eligible for the playoffs

Did MLB limit September rosters or has that not happened yet?

Yes. No Addison Russells allowed.

(Theo is a scumbag and will exploit the plurality loophole)

No you could still bring up the 15 extra guys who make up the 40 man if you wanted this year

Next year I think. I think this was a direct concession to get to the 26th man on the roster.

I see that now. I didn't realize players on the restricted list were eligible, I thought they had to be on the 40-man roster.

i.e. don't get trolled by the troll. I wish I could listen to that and incorporate it in my way of life.
