Friend of a friend has good connections with a baseball agent and ive heard a couple times now that KB and Mrs KB are really pissed at both the cubs and boras for how they’re handling this. Grain of salt, obviously, but throwing it out there.

 

Makes sense. In that article by Melisa she stated that Jessica was one of her best friends in the Cubs wives circle.

 

Under the potentially lazy assumption that the Harpers and the Bryants agree on most things, it kinda takes away from the argument that we are trying to not piss off Boras and screw up any Harper negotiation.

They could still trade him if they can find a taker. The organization has been saying the right things lately but talk is cheap. They decided to give him the chance at redemption and have hinted that he better take it seriously. What happens if he doesn't will be a real test of what the Cubs organization believes.

If I recall, if they settled via arbitration process its not guaranteed, whereas as agreement outside of arbitration is guaranteed.
