i think we should probably put david next to a giant magnet for a while as punishment for being so wrong about fowler all winter

my crusade was against trading soler for "young controllable pitching" and signing fowler to play CF

trading coghlan and signing fowler to be part of a 4 headed depth monster in the OF? sign me the horsefeathers up

all of us who have ever laughed at theo's romanticized "people will want to play here so bad" stuff should probably shut up

What I love most is that it doesn't even need to be said that Heyward is still the team's CF.

I'm mildly concerned that that won't be the case.

I know we don't give many fucks, but moving Heyward to CF and Fowler to RF is hard to see.

And I'm having a hard time not seeing Fowler start a lot, but who knows.

If it were me, he'd be our super 4th OF...and maybe there's room for him to be that and still get everyone enough starts and PAs.

No comp pick (and slot money).

Just for funsies, using our interchangeable LF'ers as the starting point, these are our OF options as of this moment under the presumption that Schwarber is strictly LF, Heyward will play CF and RF, Soler strictly RF, and Baez and Fowler can/will play all 3 OF positions. At least I think this is all of them.

Schwarber starting

1) Schwarber/Heyward/Soler

2) Schwarber/Heyward/Fowler

3) Schwarber/Fowler/Heyward

4) Schwarber/Fowler/Soler

5) Schwarber/Fowler/Baez

6) Schwarber/Baez/Heyward

7) Schwarber/Baez/Soler

8) Schwarber/Baez/Fowler

Baez starting

1) Baez/Heyward/Soler

2) Baez/Heyward/Fowler

3) Baez/Fowler/Heyward

4) Baez/Fowler/Soler

Fowler starting

1) Fowler/Heyward/Soler

2) Fowler/Heyward/Baez

3) Fowler/Baez/Heyward

4) Fowler/Baez/Soler

What's fun is Schwarber could be starting at catcher during the days he's not starting on this list. Or maybe they play Schwarber in RF for the hell of it, then it's even more expansive.

we all thought that about swapping Castro & Russell in the field

true, but it took castro sucking donkey nuts and losing his starting job

In terms of maximizing defense, wouldn't Fowler in LF, Heyward in CF and Soler/Schwarbs in RF probably give us the best defense? Taking Fowler's arm into consideration it probably is, I think.

Misery porn alert-Orioleshangout is pretty solid right now.

I think the best part is they punted 14, just for Gallardo now.

Sounds reasonable to me.

For sure.

Dexter Fowler was the one guy who I've never had a feeling like this before but you could just tell............the dude loved being here. Loved his teammates. He wanted so bad to come back. I felt the whole time he would take less money to come back because he found the place that makes him most happy.

And then he signed with the Orioles and I was thinking, "Guess I was wrong."

This? This makes so much more sense.
