The start time for this game tonight is actually pretty wild.  Here is what time the game starts locally for the 4 participants:

USA ET: 10pm (75% of US population is in ET or CT)

Paraguay: 11pm

Türkiye: 5am

Australia: Noon

Literally only convenient for the US West Coast (which I get it, the game is hosted there) and Australia.

This is the first World Cup I will be watching every game of (I might have done it 20 years ago, or watched most) because the time zone is so friendly. Earliest game starts at 2AM (my alarm is at 3 AM, so I set it an hour earlier for those games) and latest is at 2PM. In the knockout stage, games start between 2AM and 1PM.

USA chances to reach the QF seem to be really high?  Bosnia and then either Egypt or South Korea most likely.

I think Friday will be a fun day with Group G still being somewhat in the air. Belgium still has a chance to win the group with a win and Egypt draw/loss depending on goal differential. On the other hand, if Iran wins and stays ahead of Belgium, they can win the group - leading the potential to a very interesting USA/Iran matchup in the Round of 16. It would be fun to get revenge on Belgium, but I feel like that's the worst case scenario.

Has Undav carried on a secret tryst with the coaches daughter than he just found out about? It makes no sense than he’s not starting.

Ecuador is a good team that came into the World Cup on a 19 match unbeaten streak and have everything to play for today, while Germany has nothing to play for. It's not all that unlikely.

The players are reacting like it wasn't expected

Can't imagine why Ecuadors players would be excited for a win today.

The Japan-Sweden game could get boring in the 2nd half. Japan only wins the group if the better Netherlands result (up 2-0) and know they get 2nd as long as they don’t lose. Sweden also knows they advance with a draw and might not be willing to risk going for a win when a loss could bounce them.

B team for the USMNT for tonight's friendly with Turkiye.

Hoping Max Arfsten gets into the game today. UC Davis alum.

B team is playing okay overall, but defensive marking has been atrocious, and the forwards aren't really doing anything dangerous.

Miles Robinson, thanks for being here, go sit in the stands for the rest of this tournament.

Just a reminder that our depth especially at back is horsefeathers. I see better defense from mid-tier MLS teams.  That said the attack was still really strong.  Crazy to see how momentum changed the first 10 or so minutes after Pulisic came on. Had like 3 amazing chances that just didn’t go in.

Also Matt Tuner wtf. Can’t believe that dude was playing in the Prem League a couple years ago

With the caveat that I totally get why both teams would focus on doing whatever they need to do to advance...

Paraguay-Australia had:

0.82 xG
19 shots
7 shots on goal
20 touches in the opposing penalty box

And we get to see it again when Austria plays Algeria!

Oh the incentive to go 0-0 draw was extremely high for Australia and Paraguay, and they obliged.

I really only have two takeaways from last night's friendly:

1. The USMNT B team had the better chances vs Turkey and dominated possession.

2. The backup center backs are bad and should feel bad, and Turner provided almost nothing in goal.

It's not going to happen but it would be hilarious if that very unlikely scenario that keeps Paraguay out of the knockouts actually happened.
