I think you've gotta have Weston in there, he's huge for set pieces and is our best scoring threat from midfield that isn't just repurposing a winger into that position.

 

I bet we'll stay with the 4-3-3 with minimal changes, basically the Wales lineup with maybe Aaronson in for Musah. Reyna gets 30-40 minutes for Weah, Ferreira replaces Sargent if he runs out of steam, Wright gets tossed on for a defender if we need a goal.

We could really benefit from Wales taking the lead against England. There's no realistic scenario where Iran advances with a draw and a Wales win so Wales going ahead would put pressure on Iran to then try and win the game. I know this wouldn't happen if Wales scored in say the 10th minute. But if Wales is ahead at half, Iran's got to factor that in to their style of play.

I had the same thoughts about a potential round of 16 game. Finishing 2nd isn’t some death sentence this year where you have to play someone like France or Spain. It’s a winnable game in the next round.
