You have to think someone somewhere is doing a study on the impact of playing pro soccer as a teenager. It's not just Gio. You can go all the way back to Messi as a teenager.

I think first of all it was a dumb and unnecessary challenge to make at that spot in the field. No need for it. It was also more of a clumsy challenge than anything. I thought it was a borderline one where sometimes you see a yellow given and sometimes you see a red. My main issues was that the ref didn't even go over and take a second look at the monitor. A big decision like that, unless it's something super obvious, I think they need to take a second look. However I think if that same play happens against Spurs, I would be annoyed if it was just a yellow which tells me it should be a red.

That's one where I think the Premier League is generally more consistent in being a red than other leagues I might watch(though they are never perfect). With the height and enough force to make his leg flex I can't say it's clearly not a red, but a yellow wouldn't be an injustice either.

Watching Haaland destroy the EPL reminds me of when Soler hit 2 HR against the Cards in his third career game and Deshaies goes "there's not a higher league, Jorge".

Looks like Milan's current RB Calabria is their 25 y/o captain and their LB is Theo Hernandez, so unless either are hurt or about to be sold(a quick search didn't find anything but Calabria didn't play in their last match) I'm not sure if there's abundant playing time there.

 

Calabria was just ruled out until after the world cup(maybe more, hard parsing some of the translated headlines) with an injury, so Dest should get a good run of games leading up to Qatar.

I know no one cares about MLS, but Columbus is struggling to make the playoffs because they’ve given up 11 points in stoppage time (an MLS record). Without all those last minute choke jobs, they’d be the #3 seed in the east
